Added 'Multiple Intelligences' to this one
Quite neat little bedges really.

So what exactly do they say these scores mean?

Truly INFP .............. if you believe these tests ......
Always comes out the same though ......
Here's Jung's definition of an INFP:
"creative, smart, idealist, loner, attracted to sad things, disorganized, avoidant, can be overwhelmed by unpleasant feelings..."

Great eh? :)
I have long thought that the concept of a political line running left to right and encompassing all political ideologies in its wake was simplistic, especially when history has demonstrated that those on what 'the line' would determine as 'the extreme left' (Stalin, Mao et al), can turn out to be more authoritarian (or totalitarian) than members of 'the hard right' (although a complete and open analysis of either Stalin's or Mao's regimes is yet to be entirely documented it has to be said).
The idea of a circle is perhaps more appealing, because then one can see how authoritarianism makes a 'join' between hard left and hard right (and also explains, to a simplistic degree, how someone who started out as a 'radical socialist', like Mussolini, could end up controlling (with the help of major enterprise and a large assortment of hench men) the first major fascist state in history.
But 'the circle' doesn't really encompass all ideologies, because it leaves anarchists, in particular, creeping very close towards the extreme right when the founding ideology of anarchism is completely opposed to the centralisation of control that authoritarianism demands.
So when I browsed the postings here and found that several bloggers had posted their results from The Political Compass Test, I had a go at the test myself.
The author of the test is much more adept at explaining the concept than me, so, if you haven't already seen it, go and have a look yourselves. But I must say that one of my earlier concerns about 'the political circle' does appear to be answered here as follows:
" The chart also makes clear that, despite popular perceptions, the opposite of fascism is not communism but anarchism (ie liberal socialism), and that the opposite of communism ( i.e. an entirely state-planned economy) is neo-liberalism (i.e. extreme deregulated economy)."
So, anyway, I had a go at the test.
Unfortunately the graph result won't copy in full so I can't upload it to show, (an I'll admit I was too stingy to pay for a copy and our scanner is on the blink so I can't even scan the print-out graph....) but you can see my results here.- for as long as they remain there that is ... And this is my score:
Your political compass
Economic Left/Right: -8.12
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -6.15
Which, according to the graph on political leaders (which did copy) below, makes me somewhere to the bottom left of Nelson Mandella and Gandhi and left of the Dalai Lama!
Wow!
This chart definitely has a lot going for it! ;)
